2025-2026 Scholarship Essay Question
Imagine your family owns a small, successful business or a multi-generational farm in Indiana. For your entire life, it has been assumed that you would eventually take over and run it. However, you have just been accepted to college for a major you are passionate about, and you are ready to move away. Now, your parents are ready to retire, and they need a successor to keep the family legacy alive. You realize you cannot do both—you must choose one path.
Do you go off to college and pursue your own future, or do you stay behind to work in and eventually run the family business/farm?
Write an essay explaining the decisions behind your choice.
